Austro Daimler inter 10

I've been eyeing this frame on eBay. Is it worth it? My plan is to build it up as a fixed gear randonneur to replace my Raleigh Gran Sport which is too big for me. I'm not sure the date, but it says 531 and I think it's double butted. From everything I've read about austro Daimler they make good bikes.

That's a long top tube in proportion to seat tube, IMHO. How does that compare to your current frame?

Shipping is high, should be about $40 tops.

I have had several AD's...not an Inter 10...but...others...all were great riding...I do agree with @oddjob2, the dimensions are bit odd (pun intended!)...

I took me a while to get the pun, but I did, finally. It is replacing a ~60 cm frame which was way too large for me, so I think a long top tube shouldn't be an issue.

How tall are you and have you been fitted? 8 cm seat tube height is a huge difference.

I'm about 5'7", the Raleigh I am replacing is huge for me by all accounts. I also have a 56 cm soma GR, which is a frame commonly upsized and a 52 cm Miyata 310. I also have fairly short stubby legs. I tend to wear pants with a 29 in inseam. I'm wondering if this bike might be the sort of odd geometry that fits my odd body well.

I think the price is fair. Note that the forks, as well as the frame, are Reynolds 531, and they have the chrome crown, too.

It looks like the long top tube is offset by an extremely relaxed seat tube angle. Because of the seat tube angle, you'd put the saddle further forward to maintain your usual relationship between saddle and pedals. I've got a Steyr Clubman (same parent company) like this -- 56cm seat tube, 59cm top tube, fits like a 56. I would guess that this Inter 10 fits like a 53-54cm (assuming you can get the saddle far enough forward).

I've also got a Reynolds 531 AD. It's a very nice bike.
