Value of a 1981 Pro-Miyata

I have a 1981 Pro-Miyata. I bought it new, but stopped riding in 1984. It's been hanging in the basement ever since. It's in excellent condition. It needs rubber on brake handles and has a couple of punctures in the rear edge of the saddle (my cat in 1982). Does anyone have a guess what it is worth??

If it's completely covered in cobwebs and residue since 1984 w/dry rotted tires not much. Maybe like $100. If you clean it up maybe $150. If you slap all new tires, grease & bearings, chain, brake pads, cables, handlebar wrap, hoods, & restore to original then, maybe like $350 or more.

No photos so I am reserving judgement. But for the first time, I think you are 1/2 or more under fmv. I have sold a lowly Miyata 310 for $275 restored.

Agree with David...reserve judgement without pictures...but...Miyata Pro's...in good shape (not perfect) go for the mid-100's in my opinion...had four through my shop and sold none for less than $400 in Atlanta market...

Sorry, just using my basic rule of thumb on high end Japanese bikes. I've noticed (anecdotally) that complete top of the line Japanese bikes usually don't go for less than around $350. I guess if you put it on ebay you could get double that from the right buyer.
