Seeking info on old style Schwinn Chicago

I have come across what seems to be an older style Schwinn Chicago. I am curious about its make year as well as its current and original value.

What looks like a serial code between front tire and handlebars reads: CH127449
The number 77 is printed on the rear of the chain guard.
It looks like a 6 speed.

I can't figure out how to upload pictures from phone or else I'd post a good amount...

CH = March, 1972 frame.

Look at the 1972 catalog to see if you can identify the model from the catalog photos and descriptions.

1972 Schwinn catalog cover (>> to scroll through the 1972 catalog)...

As @Scooper indicated that dates the frame stamp to March 1972.

I believe that number was only stamped on the Suburban chain guard (used on 5-speed models), so it appears you have a '72 Suburban 5-speed model.

It looks like a 6 speed.
If that's the case then it has been modified as it was originally a 5-speed. Here is the '72 Suburban catalog page:

Current value depends on condition and originality. Without pics I'd say anywhere from $25 to maybe $150.

I'm thinking it probably is a 5 speed. Thank you for the quick response and good information!

Great information as always gentlemen!

All these years and I never knew the Suburban was designed to get one from home to one's Grumman Duck.
