1976 Raleigh Record Women's / Mixte
Looking for a rough idea on the value of this 1976 Raleigh Record Women's / Mixte bike. Aside from the tires and tubes, it's all original down to the bar tape. It was only ridden a couple of times after it was purchased new in 76 and has been stored indoors since.
Located in the Northeast US.

Amazing condition. But its on the low end of Raleighs offerings in 1976. Still has some prommise if you want to do some modifications. $100 plus or minus a few sheckles.

Here in the SF bay area that bike would sell for $100 -200. I have an affinity for mixte's and have rehabbed a number of them.
Most mixte's sold were of similar quality to yours. Few had Cromo frames. (a recent Raleigh Super Course build being an exception). To make it more enjoyable for riding around town, which is what it will be used for, I would change to 2" riser handle bars with a swept back style, mtn bike brake levers,Sunrace friction thumbies and (if it were me) Suntour derailleurs, although the plastic Simplex ones on the bike look new.
Most of these bikes were designed for womwn in the 5' - 5'4" size range (48-50 cm) with a few being made for taller people . The Raleigh was 56cm for someone 5'6-5'8''.
That being said I have sold them to men as well. They are cool looking and definitely a step up from dept store bikes. If you are keeping it give it some love and you will be the envy of all that see you.

+1 on what @capnjonny said about the same $$ here in Seattle. I like to do the same think with bars - move from drop bars to north roads and I have found that "Chicks dig the basket" I have never had a mixte build that included a wicker basket that it wasn't the thing people commented on/liked the most about the bike, not the 3 coats of wax or new components or cool accented cable housing. Its always the basket.
