Need help identifying a 1978 (date on the Sturmey Archer three speed hub, and on the front brake) Eminent Sport women's bike made in Holland. I cannot locate any information on this bike. Anybody know of this bike?

I does look like a typical Dutch bike from the mid to late seventies, but until today I'd never heard of the brand. An internet search turned up two others that were recently sold on our local auction site, but that's it. My guess is that it was a house brand, and not a very successful one at that. I suspect it was made by one of the dissident bicycle makers that refused to abide by the rules of the Dutch bicycle cartel that was still very much operational at the time. Mustang and Union are names that come to mind.

Having said that, this one looks quite decent, and probably one of the more expensive models, with its drum brakes. With a little TLC it should easily last the rest of your life.

Thanks for your information. I appreciate the time you spent researching. I had/have spent many hours researching Dutch bikes and came up with very little. It is a lovely bike.
