Identify my bike?

Hi, I recently acquired what I believe to be an older bca road bike but I cannot find any information on it anywhere. If you would be so kind to give me any details on this bike I'd highly appreciate it. Here are the details......

Frame says " BCAmerica" "SUPRA" "SIS"
On lower frame has sticker "IDENTIFICATION NUMBER" "BCA 2061726"
Underneath pedal frame has what I believe to be a serial number "H8D83124"

I have pictures but I cannot figure out how to attach them to this thread -_-

Photos will help.

Go to the advanced editor (Preview).

Click on the Paper Clip Icon (Attachments)

Attach your files. JPG images are best. < 100 KB is best. The system will automatically resize huge files, but can have difficulties with them too.

You'll need to downsize the image. Text it to yourself first. Then save that and upload it.

Yes. There has been much discussion of BCA history in the C&V forum. Ask a mod to move your thread for you. If your bike can be made to be ride safely, then more than 5 bucks.

Well everything works on the bike it just has flat tires but all the gears seem to shift fine. I got it from a friend of mine for helping him move. He said it was his uncles who past away awhile back and it's been in the garage kept ever since it doesn't have any rust at all just needs a bath

post some photos from the drive side (crankside) of the bike.
crank / derrailleurs / brakes

ID ing the components will give a better indicator of the price range.
if there are any sticker on the frame to indicate what type of tubing post that also.
(better lighting will be good also)

from what I can see you can ask for more then 5 bucks to start.
depending on the what area of the country, starting with 50-100 starting point is not out of the question.
from what is shown on the photos looks like a entry level bike from the late 70s to the 80's.
Stem shifters, suicide brakes, kick stand, cotterless cranks.

I'm from Harrisburg, PA. The sticker on the from says it was built in Bethlehem, Pa. So idk since I'm local if that changes the value but ok I'll take it outside now and take some more pictures. I know the Frame is steel I magnet tested it.... I'll post a few more pics here in a few minutes

Well, welcome to bikeforums! BCA was headquartered in Allentown, I believe. Why not just start a new thread here: Classic & Vintage - Bike Forums

or here: Classic and Vintage Bicycles: Whats it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Bike Forums
After you get some good outdoor pics.

You will get all the history and value info there. If that were a early mountain bike it could be worth a small fortune.

I wouldn't be optimistic about the value. Stem shifters and a kickstand indicate that it's nothing special from a frame and equipment perspective. But perhaps the brand offers something.

BCA (Bicycle Corporation of America) was Pennsylvania based manufacturer who manufactured primarily entry level models for chain stores. The brand has changed hands several times since it's inception, circa 1981. Based on the SIS decal, it is no older than 1986 and likely newer. Please post an overall picture taken from the drive side, along with photos of the rear derailleur, crankset and brakes. Also any tubing decal, if present.

Pick it up and weight it. Decent basic 10 speed bikes from that era were at or a little under 30 pounds without the rack and kickstand. If it weighs a lot less than that you have a better than entry level bike. There are two for sale listings that show up in the past 6 years one for $45 (2011) and the other for $200 (2013). Pretty wide range for the same bike. You can still find 27 X 1+1/4" tires at some of the online retailers like Niagara Cycle. Probably wouldn't find much at your LBS these days.

You can read the usual suspect information on the internet here https://www.cyclingforums.com/threads/bca-bike.424518/ but one response was by a former employee of the company Being a former employee of BCA, they were located in Allentown, PA. Yes they were made in USA (assembled) but all parts came from overseas. They also produced bikes for Sears, Montgomery Wards, Hess Department Store. They were family owned an had no connection to Ross or any other bicycle manufacturer.

They relied on the Retail contracts for the bigger part of their business. The BCA name standing alone never took off on its own.
