Help in determining good value
Can somebody please help me? I've done as much research as I possibly can. Can somebody please tell me if this is a good buy?
The guy made me a counter offer for $1,575, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. I really like the bike, but i don't want my eyes and wants to overpower my common sense, so i'm outsourcing to all of you experts to bring me back to reality. There are some paint chips, and the guy says he took it to the shop to have a tune up, and also sent it to cannonade to have a new front derailleur replaced and nobody has commented on any carbon damage (only chipped paint). I also know nothing about the wheels (i'm a 200lb dude). Also, the stem looks a little weird (the for post sticks straight up through the stem and it just looks weird. Also- he's not including the pedals OR saddle.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have to respond to him soonest.

Have you looked up original MSRP, have you checked bicycle blue book? Its values are typically low, but its a decent place to start.
Modern bikes depreciate just like almost everything else. They continue to go down until they bottom out value wise.
Thats the fork steer tube sticking up, not a stem. Normal. Allows you to raise the handlebars significantly with a couple of spacers.
Seller's ad is very snarky. I don't like buying from as@hol$s. At the same time, looks like a pretty good deal (out of my price range).
No pedals and no saddles is not unusual. Typically those are rider specific, everyone has their preference.
Why do you send a bike to Cannondale to replace the FD? WTF? I'd want to know more about that. Sounds fishy or possible frame hanger damage.

Didn't we have one of these threads yesterday? I swear there is an identical post floating around somewhere.

Not C&V but since you asked. 2 things- is it your size and have you ever ridden SRAM? Red is chosen often as it is very lightweight but some people avoid it like the plague. I have the Hi_Mod version of this frame and it's a rocket ship but I still ride steel WAY more often.
You can research the wheels. The details about the FD replacement sound sketchy. Fisher, I am getting the feeling that dropping this amount of $$ you may want to be able to buy locally and test ride before buying. An ebay purchase may not be the best choice for a sight unseen complete bicycle.

Since this is the Pro version in what looks to be good shape the price is about right maybe a bit low. I see this selling from about $1500-2000 used. Before you buy I would check the sizing 52cm seems small for most 200lb men.
