value of pre war British bikes

So I'd love to have one day a pre war British bicycle. There is a 1939 Raleigh sports listed on a CL for $1199. I assume (perhaps incorrectly) that the price is way out of line. The bike however looks to be in excellent shape. What is the range that these things go for? I guess the best place to find them is eBay UK, right? Realistically what is a bike like this worth?

It's a nice bike and pre-war ones aren't as common yet it is still a basic model Raliegh3 speed. I would put the value on this one at about half asking price giving it a pretty big premium for being a pre war bike. You can pic up very similar ones from the late 40's early 50's in very good original condition for $200-300 pretty easy in most markets.

That's what I was thinking. This bike may be overpriced by 4x to 6x. At $200-$300, I'm interested.

Dyno hub and what looks like an original pump are pluses, vinyl mattress saddle a minus. $300.
