Koichi Does anybody know anything about this bike
Just bought a Koichi vintage bike mid 80's from CL where else, 60 cm perfect size for me. I bought it because I love vintage bikes and it looked interesting
with the cool paint job, it gives a bit of Mojo and WOW factor very clean as you can see absolutely no rust. the mismatched wheels make it stand out more, not keen on red it was probably silver before it was dipped into something to make it red, but not putting money into it if not needed.
I also bought it because I spend a lot of time in high theft areas so I would not have to take my expensive bike
it is a mismatch of high-quality components sort of Heinz variety.
This is the first time I have bought a used bike that did not need anything doing to it other than raising the stem(never bought a new bike)
It rides perfectly you could not improve it if you tried shifts like silk surprising since it has a 9 cog modern cassette
goes into all gears the best friction shifting I have ever experienced.
It's a very light bike under 20 pounds and after riding a more modern bike you feel every bump with the thin tubes but more fun to ride maybe because tires are pumped 100 pounds, under the bottom bracket where serial is it says, Cinelli.
Bike was not cheap I think I paid what it was worth he would not take any less than $200 CAD, $150 USD he knew the value and was sort of a bike mechanic, bike was too large for him. He said there was a lot of interest in the bike but he lived 40 miles away from the city.
Saddle got to be worth $50 it's like new and very comfortable not like some I have had.
When I Google koichi bikes all I see is Yamaguchi
Will put new bar wrap on today but not yellow enough yellow will keep red wheel since it runs perfect but will put a black tire on then it will look better
Would also like to get some new brake lever hoods but they are expensive especially shipping to Canada
Sorry pics out of order. Bike looks a lot better than pictures

Looks to be a nice bike would be a very good deal for 200 CAD, I would put the frame set at close to that value and it hase $200-300 worth of fairly nice parts on it .I don't recognize the maker but it appears to be a well built small production or semi custom frame set from the mid 80's that some one built up with a mix of parts from the early 80's to early 2000's covering about every major brand.

Pretty darn nice - I think you got a deal.
What's up with the phillips head bolt on the stem clamp?

Stem says Cinelli on it should it have an Allen (hex) bolt, but it could be correct
it's not a particularly nice stem I had a beautiful 3T stem on my vintage Bianchi that got stolen 9 months ago
