Very nice. Is that a stronglight 106 triple? You don't see one of those every day.
I keep an eye on tandems locally since I'm thinking of buying one. They're tough to sell. A new one costs more than 2 equivalent priced singles but a used one tends to go for quite a bit less than 2 equivalent value singles. There just isn't a big market for these things. You need to find a couple that can fit the bike and locally that's tough to do. Plus while I'm a big fan of all things vintage, I reckon with tandems maybe disc brakes are the way to go. I'd sell that leather saddle separately from the bike. |
This bike is in the basement of my LBS.

Are you asking for a value?

I see high end older tandems on my local CL all the time and the asking prices don't seem crazy. Currently there is an older santana, a paramount tandem, a claud butler, and a fisher gemini tandem: the prices range from $700 to $1200.
They're just hard to sell and they tend to sit and sit. |

Yes, I figured that was a given. I was granted special access to the secret dungeon at the LBS and thought this was beautiful. It was left on consignment when its owners of state. Also a nice Schwinn Prelude down there and several Tempos. |
My wife is 6 ft. and finding a tandem has been tough. This one might work.

How long has it been for consignment? If the Owner isn't with us any longer the Estate may take an offer of $800 or at least give you an idea of what they want if they turn you down.

It's been there more than a year. Owners relocated out of state and didn't take the bike. |
