Hello again!
A friend of mine has this old sears pink bicycle. he put some new alloy rims but we are trying to know what year/country is from.

It has no stickers and she told me just found the frame and crankset.

Pics are too small to get much detail.

Hello TigreBici,

Despite the presence of all the Nippon fittings this looks to be one of the Styria (Steyr/Puch/AustroDaimler) produced Sears bicycles.

An easy verification would be for your friend to remove the headset locknut and measure the outer diameter of the steerer. It will likely be the unique Styria size of 26.0mm.

Thank you for these additional images.

WRT steerer measurement - it is not necessary to disassemble HS, just unthread locknut enough so that a measurement can be taken. If you to not have access to a caliper there are some simple alternate methods of measurement.

The frame's plate style laterals bridge is one pattern not before encountered. Chainstay bridge looks to be a standard ESGE which is what one would expect.

Do you have any idea what year this will be? and what will be the cost of the frame?

Dating can often be aided by the fittings a cycle wears. In this case the only bits I have any confidence in being likely original are the chainset and headset. The other fittings (exclusive of the wheels) may be original as well, do not know. Wylde dating guess mid to late '70's. One handy online research tool which may assist you is the back Sears catalogues which have been archived on the internet. You may find this mount amongst them. Suggest commencing search ~1975.

Readers could quite possibly give you more and better information about the machine if you could post some larger format images...

No ideas regarding appraisal, will leave to others.

Sometimes the system rejects the upload of files it deems too large.

Rather than trim images you could upload them to a photo hosting site and post the linque here. ;)
