How did I do with this Bianchi Strada?
Hello. Today I was a bit overenthusiastic perhaps and paid $65 for this late 90s (I think) Bianchi Strada. I was looking for something with wider tires to ride on gravel trails, and just a basic grocery-getting bike that wouldn't be quite as precious as my road bikes.
The paint is pretty dinged up. There's some rust here and there. There's even a little tiny dent on the top tube that I didn't notice until I got home. It's easy to miss. There's a crack in the grip shifter on the left. It still works though. The derailleurs are Shimano Altus.
On the good side, this has chromoly tubing and a Blackburn rack. It has 700c x 35 tires.
It looks like I'll need to get a new seatpost (this one is too short for me--another thing I didn't notice at first) and new rear brake pads. The rest of it seems usable as is. The tires seem fine. I have a new seat that I'll put on it.
-Does anyone happen to know what year this is from and have any opinions on how good the bike is?
-Do you think I did relatively okay on the price and/or do you think I could sell this for $100 to break even if I end up not liking it?
Thank you as always for all of your knowledge.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

$65 doesn't buy an awful lot these days, if it fits, and basically works without needing more than a few bucks here and there, it's a good deal for a beater.

$65 for a working Bianchi? Nice deal.

Looks to be well taken care of and only flaws are from casual use.

It is a fair deal provided there are no major issues. The model year should be 1995 provided the rear derailleur is OEM, as the CT90 was one year only. Given the age and level, MSRP would have been around $275 US. Good old Bianchi, giving a hybrid a misnomer model designation like Strada!
