Seriously, I'd want to ride it before making any kind of decision.
I remember when these were a "thing", but can't recall what the impressions were. Probably have an old issue of BG with a test somewhere.

This rare Polchlopek Rigideol 2 was I am told painted to commemorate Greg LeMond's victory at the World's in the early 80's, though is an artisan-built French bike made by Edmund Polchlopek.
Possibly the most expensive bike available at the time, it is fab'd entirely of brazed thinwalled steels, and even the rear "fender" is a fabricated tubular structure. So ahead of it's time!
It's the only one I've seen, due to very limited numbers imported here, and turned up on both Ebay and Craigslist at around the same time. I bought it for a very reasonable single-bid starting price because it was my size and I'd already owned one of this builder's MacSteel (carbon-lined steel) triathlon bikes that turned up locally some seven or eight years earlier.
Oval chainrings were hand-made (supposedly from modified round rings) and oriented about 90-degrees out of phase of how BioPace rings are oriented, so considerable training is needed to adapt one's legs to high-effort riding. The acceleration feels spooky fast and with the aggressive positioning the rider can keep up a good pace.

With that downtube and the seatstays it's gotta be a harsh ride. Will it fit 23mm tires or only narrower?
Needs to be ridden in a tight aero position, or risk being called a wannabe racer.
But if you like it, buy it. I've made sillier bike acquisition decisions.

The paint scheme and Corima seatpost make me think its an old national team bike -
Be nice as a collector , --- as a rider? --- ehhhhhh, --- some bikes do just fine hanging on the wall
Be a shame to press a 20-22 year old National team bike into service just doing the daily grind, but would be a fun bike to take off the wall for special occasions and would definitely be a conversation starter

It has to be very harsh riding. An aluminum frame with a large teardrop profile downtube and seat-tubes will have very little compliance.

Well if the price was right I'd do it just for the look!
Of course it would fit in perfectly with a couple of mine.

Not particularly light, though. Add the weight of a saddle, tires and sealant or tubes and you're over 20 pounds...

Yes, I had an old Cannondale from back in the late 80's. Harsh indeed!
Durace Ace equipped 9-speed. Asking price is $900.00.
Worth it?

Its worth it if its an actual National Team bike I would think
If its not , its worth about $500 IMO
It looks like a fairly big bike ---- if its the wrong size, also in the "not worth it" category even if it is a Nat. Team bike
Were it a 54 and with the above mentioned provenance, I would be all over it at $900 , but then again, like JamesDak, --- I'm a fan of the color scheme

But your bike is red, white, and blue, that bike is blue, white, and red. Not the same. Not the same at all. You'd be coming instead of going.
