Schwinn Paramount year?

I’m trying to find out the year of this bike, getting conflicting info about when it was made. Not sure what I want to do with this yet, trying to find out what it is, if it’s worth restoring. Thanks in advance for any info.
Serial # on rear wheel mount A-520
Seat tube has A stamped on it
Can’t seem to upload pics from phone, will try this evening

Are you sure it is 520 and not 620? Schwinn started the letter followed by three numbers in 1966 according to Waterford. The first number after the letter is the year of mfg. So if it is A620, that would be the 20th bike made in January of 1966.

I'm wondering if the SN is A52 and what looks like a 0 is a flaw in the chrome or mis-strike. If it is A52, that would be a 1959 manufacture, very early production. The chrome "socks" were not common for that time period but most likely could have been special ordered. It may well be worth the $50 to get a provenance report from Waterford; Schwinn Paramount Provenance Service from Waterford

There is a member here, Scooper, that is very familiar with early Paramounts that will hopefully chip in soon.

looks like serial# A52 the 0 is in a different font that would make it a 1959 model

Where is the bike located? There may be members that could look at your bike and help you out.

Cool find! That bike is old, I agree the SN looks more like A52.

The serial # paint and lugs with what look to be white pin stripping that looks to be nicely retouched would indicate a 58/59 frame set. I would guess about half the parts are non original. Still a great survivor bike with nice petina I would but the value at $800 or so as presented.

Wow, I'm not normally a Schwinn Paramount fan but this one made me sit up and take notice. I love the detail paid to the stay transitions - nice and pointy compared to the "chewing gum" fill seen in these areas on 70s frames. And the box lining!

I can't add any ID details but wanted to say that's quite a find. I'd have snapped it up in a second myself.

IMO it is definitely worth a full restoration by Waterford. Even just cleaned up and fully serviced, you have a very nice old Paramount. If you decide to part with it I'm sure several members here would be interested.

On this bike I would advise not repainting or messing with the original paint and vintage pin stripping art other than cleaning up the rust a bit and maybe some wax or clear coat there it's nicest features IMHO.As is this is one of the prettiest frame sets I have seen here on the bike forums.
