Rossin Nemo

Hi there.
Ive always wanted a Rossin.
Found one on eBay recently, that checks off all my criteria, for a neo-retro build that I’ve been itching to put together, if I find the right frame.

Modern’ish 90s frame, light tubing, 130 rear spacing. Ive got a pair of carbon clinchers, and a modern DA groupset I can pimp this out with.

What do y’all think? ... worth the price?

I would pass. I have long had a Rossin on my wish list, and they seem to be the one marque lately that hasn't dropped value, but even so, I think this is way overpriced. I've never seen a late model like this and without specific expertise, I question it's authenticity. It looks repainted to me and fork (Columbus Genius) and frame (Columbus Nemo sticker) don't match.

You migh be right. It does look repainted doesn’t it.. I thought maybe it was just somehow never built up before. But the threads seem to be painted inside the BB shell, now that I look again. And the seatpost collar.

That's absolutely a repaint. And while the fork is Rossin, the rest? Doubtful. That seat collar is a dead giveaway - look at the brazing gaps. Seller claims Campy dropouts, but they are not. Something fishy going on here. Run away, run away!

Never mind if it's even a Rossin or not, just the quality of the welding at the seat cluster looks really bad.......
As bad as one might see on a bike with a welded frame from a big box store these days.....
Frankly, If I was looking for a Rossi, I'd rather look for an older one with a lugged steel frame. Much easier to find something of better quality and better aesthetics that we C&Vers like.

I wonder that entire area is a repair. The finishing is not at all consistent with that of the head tube and BB shell fillets.

Yup, could be the main reason for the refinish.......

Just look at how bad the decals are. The first "s" is skinny, and one's porky. Then the "i" is skinny, and the "n" is fat.

In an original, the letters have a much more consistent weight.
