Unsure if it's old enough to be C&V but nice looking bike! This non-drive side photo is all I have to work with. I see what looks like a scrape on the seat stay and unsure about the angle of the forks. I spoke to seller but no further answer on frame size condition, etc. Bike is in California so looking $150 for shipping.

My questions: Any idea on these bikes in general? I hear good words about maker but not enough on the models.

What size? Judging by the size of the head tube it looks like a tall bugger. I'm 6'2 so would prefer 25
inch frame

Wondering about the tape on the top tube?

Rodriguez Cycles has a used bike on their website for $999 described as a "Softride Touring/Gravel Grinder" but I don't think I've ever seen a bike with a back end like that one.

Are they 26" wheels?

I'm not sure on tire size as the only response I got from seller was shipping info.

I believe it's the Rodriguez "Adventure Commuter/Touring bicycle" but these are really rare bikes outside of the Pacific Coast so I don't know anything at all on them which makes bidding a very, very unsafe proposition.....

It doesn't look like tape to me. Wonder if those are S&S couplers on the top tube just ahead of the seat cluster and on the down tube just ahead of the BB shell.

+1 My first thought. There's also a quick disconnect on the rear brake cable.

Thought about contacting Rodriguez? (Custom Bicycles | Rodriguez Bicycles and Tandems in Seattle) That looks like a recent bike and it is big enough that they probably remember it well. And the S & S coupling looks just like a photo on their website, just black instead of silver.

Edit: this bike may not be a "model". Between the size and the couplers, I'm guessing this bike is custom and Rodriguez has in the past done some pretty different bikes.

Ben

+2 on couplers. Adds several hundred to the cost (new) and might come in really handy. Looks like 650B maybe. Popular on touring bikes. Monster head tube, but looks worse with the smaller wheels. Might fit you at 6'2".

Contact R & E Cycles, they are very good with customer support. Good products I have an early edition that was made in the U.K., before the USA product.

I have three Rodriguez custom bikes, and my wife has two. Yes, do give the shop a call to ask about the bike.

I agree the black things are almost surely S&S couplers. The rims are made by Velocity. The frame is likely tubing from True Temper, which Rodriguez was using until TT decided to quit the tubing business recently.

The build quality of Rod bikes has always been very good. If the bike fits you, I am sure you would enjoy it.

Rodriguez is a small custom builder out of Seattle. There is some stuff on the web on them. Add the couplers, this was an expensive bike.

+10 May not have been a particular model.

I'd be all over this one if it were anywhere close to my size. Everyone needs one of these!!

I've got an early MTB of theirs.

Since you can't get good information from the seller, such as top tube length, what components are on it, etc., you will have to just roll the dice on this one. I would again if it was close to my size. At 5-10, no way. Small wheels do make the head tube longer, so it is somewhat misleading, but it is still big.

Too small

This one is a 60cm frame and if my Fuso is too short at 59cm this can't be much better. Looked really cool but I've got bikes I'll never ride so can't take this one.

Ps it's In California and obviously local pick up but for shipping per their reply,

Good Morning,
we have found that it cost approx 150.00 to ship the bike to the east coast.... we look for the cheapest way to go. but it is hard to find a fair deal... we box it at no charge.... we just charge what ever they charge me for the shipping.

thanks
Janice

Fyi sold for $180

Only other ones I found for sale were serious bucks

I'm in Ontario Canada and I've never even been in California so I'm not shilling for this website but if I ever get there I am going to the auctions.....
