too many bikes, going to list on local facebook or craigslist. How much to ask?
Newer front crankset (sram triple)
new chain, new brake pads. Hates crosschaining, shifters so so, has heavy basket.

My wife has a similar big box store Schwinn from around the same time frame that I finally replaced for her with a nicer bike (she wasn't interested in a long time and didn't see the value). I know I have much more in her Schwinn Ranger in replacement wheels, tires, and brake pads than we'll be able to get from selling it. Part of me just wants to pull that stuff back off and scrap the frame, but I'm not sure what I'd use the stuff for. As I said above, if you can get $25 for it, you're doing good. If you like that basket, pull it off before you sell as I imagine that cost more than you'll get from the complete bike. At least that's what my rambling above was trying to imply.

wow,,
Would have figured at least $50 as it's an old quality LBS bike (before schwinn sold out )and not a department store bike, but will adjust craigslist price accordingly.
thanks.
thanks.

Worth more than 25 bucks if it's cleaned up and tuned up. In the Boston area I've moved similarly specced bikes for 80-100. But that was fully serviced, new grips, brake pads, all that fun stuff.
Edit: Front tire also looks really suspect. Sidewall doesn't look like it's doing too hot

Schwinn, similar to Mongoose, ruined their name hooking up with Walmart. Remove the basket, that eliminates 75% of the buyers. Given condition and your description, $25, $50 max. Realize a fully tuned, functional, everything works great older MTB can be had in most markets for ~ $100.
Hows the fork? Old suspension forks are often shot.
Bike is from the era where Schwinn no longer made any bikes, instead they were sourced from China or Taiwan.

I'd list for $100, be happy to take $80 after a week.
Watch some YouTube vids on adjusting shifting, an try to dial it in. Make sure derailleur hanger is straight.
