Cilo SLX w/ Sante/600

Hi, this CG ad has been on DC Craigslist for months and the owner of the post keeps lowering the price. I'm curious if anyone can spot an issue with this Cilo, or can tell me more about the company/ this particular bike.

https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/...528463128.html

There are two things that catch my eye as potential problems but I'm not an expert by a long shot and I am hoping someone with more knowledge can help:

1) Why is the SLX sticker on the down tube? Shouldn't that be on the seat tube?
2) Do those rust patches look to anyone else like they might be indicative of a very serious hidden rust issue?
3) Does $260 seem like a very low price to anyone else?

Any thoughts/advice for this newbie much appreciated.

THanks

I think it's a legit Cilo and the decals are correct. Seller is a commercial high quantity flipper who operates out of a storage unit garage and/or a temporary home location. Seller would not do anything to a bike other than a cursory 'tune' and replace tires and/or saddle. Rust looks like paint scraped off by a lock, chain or old style bike rack, that then rusted. $260 is pretty good, has some nice parts on it, you can probably get it for less since he's been sitting on it for a long time and is typically willing to haggle on price.

Don't expect him to ship it to you in Maine, however.

Thanks! I feel like if I could get him down to $200 - $250 that would be a great price for any SLX frame, I think I'll give him a call.

Luckily (or unluckily for barn finds) I moved to DC, just havent updated my profile yet.

Very nice.

Excellent value.

If good size for you would proceed.

That bicycle is easily worth twice the asking price. Get it before it disappears.

It does appear to be legitimate as the chainstay cable stop with a housing loop was characteristic of Cilo. Also, the lack of a chain stay bridge was characteristic of their SLX frame.

That's close to dirt cheap for a legit SLX framed bike from a well known Euro maker!!
If it's the right size and no damage or rust on the frame, grab it!!

If you're still hesitating, don't. Lots of people in the DC area read Bikeforums and could fit on a 57 cm frame (eyeballing the size).

The Sante component group alone would probably fetch $250 or more on eBay.
