Edoardo Bianchi updated 3.26.18

I have an edoardo bianchi bike. It is a consumer production as it has the Bicycle barn sacramento ca outlet retailers sticker on the frame. It belonged to one of my parents and I know they wouldnt pay above a basic inexpensive models price for any bike. They bought 2 ( I only have one)thinking they might pedal around some during their retirement years.Well they never did,the bikes remained in storage until my parents died.I think the bike may have been purchased between late 70s to 91 roughly,
Id like to learn more about it.
I dont expect much in its value, but just the same Id like to know a ballpark value for it, Im now past retirement and now its my turn to think about biking a little too...uhuh,sure. .
Heres some data I found on the bike:
1-top horizontal bar of the fame: Grizzley
2-Brakes: dia-comp
3-alum wheels "Araya 26 x 1.50 Japan"
4-Frame sticker :Cro Moly
5- 18 sp 28,38,48
7-Derailer: Shimano
6-Handle Bar/center post frame : sakae SA
7-Frame front post sticker with Bianchi logo:Edoardo Bianchi

Welcome to the forums. The Grizzly was Bianchi's first entry into the ATB market. It would be no older than the 1984 model year and this sounds like one of the earlier models, based on the Dia-Compe brakes. The early Grizzly models were made in Japan and the serial numbers will tell us the exact manufacturing date.

(drive side) i have a fat tire schwinn with the dbl coil springs on swept back handlebars/ post. I got it in 1972 and it was my father inlaws . it was never used either, but has sat outside in the desert for the last few years.,.no rust last time i looked...gotta be some though. ill look it over and post it separately later.

If it is in really great condition in classic Bianchi Blue I would realistically put the value at about about half that price or a bit less in a better market. Usually production hard frame MTBS of this vintage top out at $250-300 with most going for a lot less. Were I'm at in Colorado MTB country I would have a hard time getting $200-250.
