Bianchi Road Bicycle- Campagnolo .... $1500????

For sale in Ontario near Toronto which I know can be home to a red-hot market (bike is not in Toronto itself).

Per ad

Vintage Bianchi Bicycle purchased in the California in the mid 80's.

-Campagnolo gears, shifters and brakes
-Seat post and post for handle bars and front crank are all anitized black
-Mavic rims

I admit I don't know Bianchi values but I don't see half that value (even ignoring presentation, dirty and rusty parts). I'm just wondering what a reasonable price would be for this bike (in case I see a more reasonably priced specimen).

In it's current shape slightly rough for a NR level Bianchi I would say $400-500 on the high side so $1500 is just way too high. For used 80's road bikes there are very few selling for over a $1000 and those are usually limited production actual race level bike in excellent condition.

The sticker appears to be TreTubi so the original model was an Alloro level. What are the cranks? I think it is overpriced but $700 or so

Bianchigirll and all

I am not sure the seller knows the details about this bike or maybe he does know but doesn't realize that others might want to know those details. I can't offer more on the cranks because I don't know these bikes well enough. I have a set of Rino cranks that might look similar, will have to check.

As shown above he simply says "Seat post and post for handle bars and front crank are all anitized black". I think he meant simply that the seat post and the stem and the cranks are anodized.

He did correctly state that it had "Campagnolo gears, shifters and brakes", which is true as far as that goes but he could have offered a bit more detail. I see from the photos that at least the RD, shifters, brakes and brake levers are Campagnolo, as is the rear QR. I can't see the front QR and strangely no close up of the FD and so can't speak to those.

I initially saw "just" a large frame Bianchi and thought it was way way over priced, then I saw what I could see of the drive train and thought it had potential but I didn't see beyond $500.

If you see $700 then I have to admit I was really short. I compared that to the Fuso for sale here as well for $875 and didn't see the Bianchi in the same league.

More schooling for this boy....

The subject bicycle appears to be a circa 1983-984 Nuovo Racing or Allloro, which were lower mid-range models. The brakes are an obvious upgrade. The derailleurs are OEM spec. The crankset is likely an Ofmega, as that would be OEM. IMO, it's overpriced by a factor of about three. Pass.
