Hi guys,

​​​​​​I was wondering if you could help me price this bike on Kijiji. I live in Ottawa, Canada and this bike has a large frame. No other information included except that it is priced at $265 CAD.

I would suggest the price is too high. There is rust coming through the paint, and the bike comes across as uncared for which could imply poorly lubed and adjusted bearings. At $150, maybe take the chance but then again, Ottawa market may be hot like Toronto. Consider as well whether you can do any of the resto work or need to have a shop do it. The Ottawa bicycle market is quite hot. The subject bicycle appears to be a circa 1981-982 Peugeot UO12 Sprint, a sport model around the crossover between entry level and mid-range. The frame is Peugeot's 103 lightweight hi-tensile steel. Components are solid and fairly light but nothing special. Non-visible derailleurs should be Simplex SX810 & SXA 52, if OEM. Rims are older 27"style, though they are aluminum. Saddle and bar tape are replacements. Price may be slightly high but not overly so. I would expect this to go for $200-$225 CDN.

Have not before seen this colour on a Peugeot.

Wonder if it may have been specific for the Canadian market?

We had a bright opaque orange here in the U.S. but not this pearlescent tangerine...AFAIK.

@juvela, I seem to recall this colour being used on the USA market PB10 around the same time. The CDN literature calls it Pearl Orange or Pearlescent Orange, depending on the exact year.
