Ross Professional Super Gran Tour
Any ideas of value of this Ross Professional Super Gran Tour? The decals were removed as they were in pretty rough shape.

Not professional, not grand, not a touring bike. But the 600 arabesque bits have good value. Too bad its missing the arabesque headset. I've bought a few for those parts.

I watched a super mint condition, all original one of these (in white) linger on Craigslist for about 6 months at $175. I don't know if it sold, or if the seller just got burned out and let the ad expire. Take that for what it's worth.

I paid $75 for one (Black) that was kinda rough. Went thru it (my favorite Bike man did) and the total bill was $320. Replaced / reworked everything on it. Bearings on up. Tires, tubes, rims, cables, brakes, crank, bars, etc, extensive clean up. A complete frame up restoration.
600 series components. Rebuilt and shined up. His Assistant (who did much of the work) offered me $200. Later, a customer offered me $250. I plan to ride it this Spring. (Today is Spring, duuuh ! ). My son rode it 10-15 x last year. Likes it better than his Trek and/or Cannondale. Son wants to steal it for his Med School residency in California and Arizona. I may give it to him for Med School graduation. I think in pristine condition --$250 is the max. Retail new was about $230. (1981) Ordinary condition--$75-$125. Good luck. |
Nice! Looks very clean, and totally rust-free. New tires. In my area (northern NJ) that bike would easily sell for $175. Might want to wrap the bars. With that done I'd start at $200.

It looks nice & clean and shiny. It's got a good size frame for big boys. Shimano 600 parts. Good rubber. Ready to ride. Not a real high end collectable item. I think you could start at $250 for it and hope for a sale. But, be prepared to take less than $200.

Does anybody know what type of tubing this Ross Professional Super Gran Tour used?
Looking at a local add - and the Bike shop I once worked at sold Ross back in the day. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...a1fbd940bb.jpg |
