It has value , I would say it would go for 350-400 in my area . OK now this is just me , it is less desirable because of the wheel up grade . Also if you could take a picture from the drive side that would help . I'm sure some others will comment here that are more knowledgeable about the IM Master .

Was about to post the exact same estimated value. However I raised my estimate based on the wheels, which look to be decent. It should be noted I'm a rider and not a collector.

I'd consider the wheels an upgrade, unless you're an OEM oriented collector. These wheels are definitely faster than the OEM wheels and reflect the previous owner's duathlon/triathlon/time trial preference, as do the aero bars. The pedals and saddle are also replacements. The decal set is indicative of a 1988 model. Original MSRP, $700 US. Condition is good but not great. It could use a complete overhaul and most of the consumables likely need replacing. I'd value it ~ $300 US in current set-up.

Nice find. I lived in Houston for 11 years and despite it being the 4th most populous city in the U.S., I found the volume of quality C&A offerings to be pretty scarce.

I think your Ironman is $225-$250 as it sits. Clean it up, lose those awful tri-bar bolt-ons, put on a more aesthetically pleasing pedal and I think value is around $350. The wheels may be an upgrade but I’m not a fan of them on this bike. They neither help nor hurt the value IMO.

Don't consider taking less than $300 for it as - is.

Some pretty lofty numbers being thrown around for Houston. More power to you if you can get $300+ as is in the Houston market.

For your comparison, here are 3 Houston Craigslist buys I’ve made in the last 2 years. All 58-60cm, complete bikes and all a little cleaner than this Ironman.

1985 Ironman - $200
1986 Schwinn Super Sport - $160
1989 Schwinn Circuit - $165

+1 To lofty numbers. I have bought several Ironmans over the years, they don't bring those prices above here. And in as found condition, they bring less.

I Should have read all the way to the bottom, glad you sold it.
I agree, I see IM's listed with really high price tags and they languish for months unsold...I suppose if someone really wanted one with this color combo they might be tempted but this one needs a lot of cleaning and service to get it anywhere in the 300 area. 250 tops
