Mikkelsen Frame Value

How would you guys value and rate this Mikkelsen frame? It looks to be in very good shape. It fits. Just the frame.

Appears early '80's.

Surprisingly normal looking.

He was fond of quirks such as chainstays for fork blades & fork blades for chainstays.

Is there an asymmetric swirl at the bottom bracket?

This is one of his signatures. He called it "the stray pubic hair."

Suspect it would have been constructed for a shop to sell "off the peg."

The OMAS headset is a nice touch. Likely issued from Andy Newlands.

What about a value? What little I can find says he made/makes quality stuff.

Leave valuations for others more knowledgeable in that area.

Have neither purchased nor sold a piece in many years.

This is an american custom. You're dealing with a small and knowledgeable market on these. American customs are gorgeous bikes, but in the secondary market can be found for very little with some key exceptions. $250-350 for the frame alone is a fair asking price; you can try higher on ebay, and might very well have it sit locally even in that range. It might sell for less; I see nice American custom frames go for under 200 with some regularity.
