Rivendell Rambouilett
Hi Everyone,
I’m curious about what folks might think a Rivendell Rambouilett would be worth? I know it can be subjective on a bike like this...
Here is the description:
1st Generation Rivendell Rambouillet. With a 56 cm frame (c to t) a 55 cm top tube and a 101cm wheelbase. The components are Shimano Ultegra 9 Speed 6500 series with Nitto seat post, stem and Specialized branded Nitto Rondennour handlebars. The wheels are Mavic Open Pro's laced to Shimano Dura Ace 7700 series hubs. The B17 Brooks is the "big rivet" Champion Special. Copper/Orange finish.
Perfect condition, mechanically perfect.
What would be a fair price for a collector-grade bike?
Thanks!

Really need pics to assess value. Some folks describe condition as perfect and there are still issues that knock the value down.
Rivendell bikes are very desirable and have a large group of loyal owners. But again, condition matters. The only completed sale I found on ebay was for a frame-only and the winning bid was $1007.00. It was a 66 cm. so quite large and a limited audience. It appeared to be NOS. Somebody bought the frame and never built it up.
Based on size, there will be lots of interest if you auction it. If you can still order that frame, it would likely be north of $2,000.00 itself I believe.

Check out the RBW Google Groups and look at the For Sale threads. You will get a good idea of what that bike will sell for.
