Custom 853 value
I am a tubing geek, and after finding a 753 Peugeot, I though 853 should be next on my list. Walked in to a bike shop and they have one 2nd hand with carbon fork, in my size. Ksrium elite wheels and 105 group. Not very vintage but it is steel, so what kind of prices does something like that go for. The title says custom as it was made for somebody specific, I spoke to the builder and although he doesn't remember it specifically, he ony really does custom, and is a well reputed bike fitting centre.
So, what should I look at paying? Cheers folks

Not sure if "custom" really adds anything of value on the second-hand market..perhaps some, however you might look at other 853-built bikes and see what they are going for. The following 853 frames come to mind:
>Lemond Zurich(Ultegra), Maillot Jaune(Dura Ace), Alpe d'Huez(105) -- top end with ovalized tubing
>Lemond Buenos Aires(105/Ultegra) -- second tier with round tubing
Other manufacturers use/have used 853..Gunnar, All-City..others

Given that after a small amount of research the wheelset is worth half or more on the 2nd hand market of the price I'm being offered the bike for, I'm going for it.
