1972 Kool Orange Manta Ray Frame

I'm a newbie and won't let me upload a a pic or link, but here is some copy and pasted info about it below from the Ebay auction. Currently on Ebay via seller captaintamtam with good pics. Was hoping for value in order to add a BIN price. I wanted to wait to post it but I have expenses needed to be met. I'm a disabled Veteran with a new organic urban farm/microgreens business and time is running out to pay my electric bill and deposits where my ex moved out. If anyone has the time to look up the pics I'd greatly appreciate it. Any info would be a blessing. Thanks!

You are already on the right place to sell it on eBay. I get my BIN pricing from eBay, just search SOLD items, ranked from highest price first. Compare your condition to the competition. I totally, completely avoid describing any item as "excellent +". You are asking for a return or claim. I would not call a repaint excellent +.

Zero feedback seller hurts! Buyers prefer someone with a track record of positive feedback, including sales (and shipments) of bikes. Your starting price is TOO LOW. Worse case you only get that as a bid, and with free shipping, you end up with a buyer in California. You will lose money on the sale at that point.

Since its a repaint, how do you know it was originally a Kool Orange bike?

And bad news on eBay, even if you "don't accept returns", eBay will approve returns. The secret words savvy buyer's use is "item not as described". eBay will approve those returns and charge you the return shipping.

If you want advice from a long term, 18 year, top rated seller, here goes (if not ignore it)

1. Forget auctions. Auctions no longer result in the highest prices, often you will end up selling your item for less.

2. Buy it now, 30 day listing, check the immediate payment required box in your listing (too many deadbeat buyers out there that buy but never pay). If your item doesn't sell in 30 days, either you have a lousy ad, your price is too high, or there is little or no demand for your item. Compare completed items to sold items. If 100 items were completed, but only 10 sold, forget it. Very little demand. Pick something else.

3. Accept returns, as eBay will force them back on you regardless. May as well get credit as a "good seller".

4. No feedback? Start with cheaper items. Save your gems for later. Buyers want to buy from sellers with a perfect reputation.

5, Never over-rate your item. If anything, describe in painful detail, and rate it below actual. Let the pictures tell the story. When I get comments in feedback on my items, its always "better than described" and "shipped fast".

6. Choose your background carefully, like the cigarette butts on your current pictures. Clean wins. When I see cigarette butts, the first thing I think about is my item will stink (smell).

7. Don't expect to get your money from PayPal very quickly. They will put a hold on your money as a new seller. They don't want to be stuck, so you will be stuck for a while instead.

8. Expect not every sale to go perfect. Just like brick and mortar stores build in a budget for shrinkage (shoplifting), you need to be thick skinned and expect some sales to go bad. It should be a small percentage, but it happens.

9. Be ready with supplies to pack and ship your item. Get a scale, weigh your items accurately.

10. Print all of your labels through ebay, that gives them 100% transparency on your shipment, and prevents the "I never got it" issues.
