I must say the parts selection has a certain- je ne sais quoi. With the information provided most of the value is in the frame. IMHO.

I am talking about the position of a buyer , not a seller.
On ebay the frames are from 350 or so to 900$.
What gives the difference of price?
What year was it made? Should I ask the serial number?

You may have answered your own question...what were the sales prices on E-bay for complete bikes with similar groups? Deduct fees and shipping for the final value. E-bay reaches a wider market, I have seen them languish here in L.A. for weeks at 900-1000 with great groups hanging on them and do not know if they sold or were removed by seller.
In my mind, the group and worn out crankset really detracts from the value 500 to 700.

Not riding enough
With the pump peg it matches some late 90s models. If you can get it and all the worn out parts replaced for 800-1000 it's an OK deal, 500-600 and it's a bargain.
