1997 Lemond Chambery on sale Black Friday

Hey everyone: I am currently looking for a vintage Binachi and having no luck so far. I was out and found a 97 Lemond Chambery (white and yellow) in really good condition except for a few scratches. The body seems really solid and everything else is stock and works great. The price with the Black Friday discount is @ $200. I had plans on getting a light weight carbon bike this Christmas on the used market and had a pretty high budget. I'm thinking about picking this up as it weight about 19 pounds and still have money left over for my Binichi! Any thoughts on the lemond? FYI: not my photo but this is how the bike looks.

I can't really bring myself to think of that bicycle as C & V, but I think it's worth the asking price.

@200.00 I think it is a great deal "depending" on condition, I would buy it in a heartbeat....what are you waiting for?

Hey Bianchigirl, that's not my photo. I'm just using it as an example of the year and color. Everything on the bike matched as far as equipment and I checked the bike for cracks and chips the other day. I didn't think I would run across a cheap carbon bike that I could afford with the future vintage binachi.

No worries,

Tx, you too. No camping for me, I shop all the time, stockpile for bday's and xmas, then watch and laugh at all the carrying on while I leisurely do last minute shopping for small stocking stuffers, afterthought gifts, etc.

Merziac,
I hear you, my family and I do the same thing... for us the holidays are for "Giving Thanks" not "Giving".
Best, Ben

What components are on the bike? Condition? Did you ride it and enjoy it?

It is a pretty old bike, make sure everything works, don't get blinded by the price, old carbon bikes are not hard to find....

I hope the non response is because the OP is having a hard time wiping the grin off of his face and not because he missed it.

I decided against it for now as they had a heavy discounted ( Black Friday Sale - 3 days) Trek Madone 5.2 for not much more they just got in. The bike was just my size and I made the purchase after a close inspection of the frame and it's drive train. More important! I didn't bust my budget and I am looking forward to my future vintage Bianchi again.

**Having a GREAT Christmas so far.......

So if you aren't going to buy it post where it is located and let GB above snag it...also post pics of your new bike.

Sorry about the 3.0 mp camera. I purchased the Madone 5.2 this morning and I couldn't be happier with the bike. Sun actually came out a little and it feels solid from my short ride. I then came in and ran across this forum and decided that I needed to pick up the Lemond Chambery before someone else does. The Lemond is very clean for it's age and the weight of the two bikes are very close. It's hard to believe that they are 15 years apart! FYI: The Trek Madone is a 56cm. The lemond is a 54cm.

Great way to take advantage of Black Friday! That Lemond Chambery was a steal, Im sure you could resell and pay for your Trek purchase thus a Black Friday nice CF free bike to you. Should be a nice pair to enjoy over the years.
