1989 Bridgestone MB-1 Comp with some aftermarket parts
Hello! I purchased this 1989 Bridgestone MB-1 Comp yesterday for $50 off of Facebook marketplace. I do not currently have intentions on selling it, but wish to restore it to original stock if possible. As you can see in the pics, the fork, brakes, and stem/headset have all been replaced.
My questions are, what is it’s current value? And, is it worth tracking down the original parts? The Koski fork is proving nearly impossible to find! For know I plan on using a used Ritchey fork from a 1990 MB-1 as a placeholder (this is still more expensive than the bike’s purchase price!).
Thanks!

You did good on this one. (Saw your other thread)
the value is just what is in the frameset and salvageable xt parts, so id say $250 -300 as is max dollars,
the mods, while frowned upon today, made perfect sense back in 1993 or 4. Just a way to get new life out of an already old bike back then

I think the suspension fork on a vintage MTB tends to hurt the value. That's not what somone who wants an older MTB is looking for and parts for older suspension forks are likely unavailable. I'd value it closer to $200 as it sits. A pristine MB 1 is worth quite a bit more and someone might be willing to pay more given the bridgestone name.

+10 $200. All original in pristine shape would be a lot more.
