Just check completed SOLD auctions on eBay and compare the condition of your bike to them. In my experience, buying and selling several Miyata 1000s, sold locally they go for quite a bit less. Realize to sell it on eBay, you will need to pack and ship at a reasonable price and pay all the fees.

Miyata improved their bikes throughout the 1980s and I consider the later 1000LT model to be a step up over the earlier ones.

Quick link tools are cheap on eBay and Amazon (under $10) and well worth it. I struggled to remove quick links until I bought the tool.

On my expensive tools, they have come (used) from either Craigslist or bike shops that were going out of business. Other tools have come from eBay, where someone was selling a "lot" or set of bike tools. Few of my tools were bought new.

A six-second Google search* returned this:

"In 2007 Gary Smith bought 80% of the company, with the employees owning the remaining 20%."

*(from Wikipedia)

Since I have Google up in my browser window, do you have any other questions?
