Mavic MA-40 NOS?

Considering doing a retro build, are these worth it?

I'd say so. It's right around what you'd pay for Open Pro's, which I think would be an equivalent rim.
Wolber Super Alpines look a lot like them and would be about 2/3 the cost, at least where I buy them.

Around 200 bucks delivered?, I think that's way too much for those rims.
Good rims, but not 200 bucks worth, I would say, just above a hundred bucks (Maybe $125 delivered) will be a fair price for those....

If I was gonna pay that much for rims on a retro build I'd want them to be G40s.

That's more than I'd pay for them particularly given all the really great new rims you can pick up. The H Pus Son TB 14 rims are pretty sweet and roughly the same price (or a bit less). Similar design, both are around 500 grams and sturdy.

After my last experience building a wheel with a NOS vintage rim Iíve decided not to do that again. Iím guessing the rim is NOS for a reason - it has some kind of defect or isnít very round or whatever (ie a second) so it was passed over in favor of a perfectly good one available back when they were common.
