What is this Bike ? Please Help

Hi Bikers,

One of our fellows in our club is selling this bike, he claims it is a Peugeot but not so sure.

He is asking a very small amount of money - but I am not so sure if it is something worth to buy and store.

I will greatly appreciate if anyone can help regarding brand - year or model ?

Thank you.

Looks to be a late 70's AO series which were Peugeots entry level bikes. With fairly nice paint and upgraded alloy wheelset worth about $125 if everything works good and it rides nice. If you need a bike to ride on the cheap and its your size probably not a bad deal otherwise it's nothing special and I would pass..

Base model bike with a cottered crank and riveted chain rings. Chrome steel handlebars. Looks like the wheels were probablty replaced at some point in time with some wheels with fancy red anodized hubs. If everything works and the wheels spin true it's probably worth around $100.

Those are the strangest fork ends I've ever seen. Not sure I'd want to ride that at any speed. I'd pass.
