Nishiki International WE19207 serial#

Hi,
I have a bike and would like to get an idea when it was made, where and the value. I would say it is in fair to good condition and it would need repair. It has Araya 700 c tire rims and Sereas tire, geometry frame state Tange, kusuki winpista handlebars, Tange 1 double butte of tubes cr mo seamless tubing, suntour brakes, suntour CA 170 LP ? and steel C MO Tange Fork Blade. Clearly I do not know what I am talking about.IT has serfas hybrid suspension system on the seat. It has a nice inset letter N embedded into rear seat stay caps. It says Japan on it and it has a place for water bottle. Because I am new the site won't let me post pictures of it. My husband got it around 1994 or 95 and it was a co worker's so I am guessing late 80's but have no idea how to find serial number info, Thank you,

Your Nishiki was manufactured in 1985 for the USA market by a Japanese company named Kawamura. However, it is a 1986 model manufactured in late 1985. The model is an International LD, with the LD standing for Large Diameter (tubing). The tubes are joined to internal lugs using both internal brazing and external heliarc welding for extra strength. Tange #1 is a quite light and well respected tubeset. with the slightly larger diameter increasing the stiffness.

Components are primarily SunTour, with Sprint model derailleurs and Cyclone model crankset and brakes. The wheels are 700C Araya 20A rims laced to Sanshin hubs. The saddle is a replacement but the rest of the bicycle appears original. This is a nice mid-range model with an original MSRP of $500 US.

Value, in good, ready to ride condition would be $200-$250 in most markets. While the cosmetic condition appears good, generally bicycles of this age need an overhaul and replacement of some, if not all consumables (tyres, brake pads, cables, bar tape, chain, freewheel). That alone could reduce the value to around $125-$150. A picture of the drivetrain would give us a better idea of the condition and value. What specific repairs does it require?

Thank you so much for your expertise and taking the time to consider my post! Here are pics that might help re: drive train and I have no clue about repairs.

I don't see any suspension on the seatpost.

The prices I see around here (or perhaps wish for) would put the bike somewhere in the $300 to $400 range if in perfect condition, ready to ride.

As-Is, probably closer to $200.

As a non bike person, you could give it a good cleaning, but if you have to hire work to get it in tip condition, then it could get expensive fast. And, there are many buyers that would prefer to do the work themselves.

The drivetrain looks quite good. There doesn't appear to be any excessive wear, However, the bicycle could use a good cleaning. There's still flash on tyres, so they appear to be quite new under the dirt. So, it may require a minimum of consumables. I'd clean it and list it for $250. Be prepared for offers around $200.
