Time to Thin the herd
Hello to All,
I need to reorganize my studio, running out of space (aren't we all).
I want to do local sales to "Bike Forum Members" here in Los Angeles and want to get an idea as a "fair" asking price for the following bikes before posting in the for sale thread...frames just too large for me, would also consider trades for like bikes in 53.
The first 3 are in nearly perfect condition with 99% paint...the chrome Schwinn has a ding on the top tube (last pic). I am posting only drive sides and no close up because as I mentioned they are very clean and original...All will need service etc.
The Prestige is all an all original bike down to the tires and has almost zero paint defects seems almost new.
The Ironman is a Master with full 600 group seems to have been ridden infrequently and put away...gold Araya rims show no brake wear. The color is one of my favorites almost looks like titanium, beautiful bike no dents etc.
The Dale shows very little use and no frame damage or loss of paint...not sure if the later ones came with a different saddle or not, earlier ones came with a Cinelli volare.
The Schwinn is clean but has a dent as mentioned and shown in the last image.
I also will be posting a P15 Paramount as well as a Specialized SE soon.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks, Ben

I've heard the LA market is a bit soft. I'll wait for the locals to weigh in.
On the Black Lightning, I much prefer the Sprint group year model (prior year as I recall). Edge was pretty doggy IMHO. But someone who really wants a Black Lightning would be all over it.
Very limited options with the damaged V 11.8. Parts were nothing special, so not a lot of value on a part out.
Nishiki Prestige was a nice bike that year. Very sellable size too. I've done well on those. Centurion is a winner too, with a very nice 600 group on it.

I would think the black lighting would be worth putting on the forums for sale area with a preference for local sale, they seem very popular with the Cannondale set. I might price the Schwinn with damage in the priced to move category in view the damage. Seems like in Seattle people would start at $200 for the Nishiki and the Centurion, not saying they would get that but it would be a starting point. Good luck.
