I bought an old KHS aerosport used a few weeks ago and i’m curious about when it was made. I searched every bike encyclopedia and couldn’t find any evidence of one made before 1993, but mine has a sticker saying it was registered in honolulu before 1990 so i’m very curious. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I’m not allowed to upload an image because it’s my first post but it’s two toned pale green and purple with 80s-esque yellow lettering.

Bikepedia does not go back any further than 1993. Need to try google, or just look up a component code, see vintage trek site for the decoding.

The paint scheme sounds like a pastel teal and mauve combinatrion that was part of the Miami Vice influence that the bicycle industry embraced in the late 1980s. We may be able to determine the frame manufacture date from the serial number.
