I might want to pay a bit less, but who wouldn't?
The condition of the bike, and the quality level make the price fair in a strong market. The bike will offer decent ride quality and be easy to use, thanks to the indexed shifting, which can be switched to friction just like that, and excellent side pull brakes with comfortable levers. You might not want to leave it parked and unattended, though. Kinda pretty and tempting. Anyway,,,
$300.00 - have it in your pocket when you go to view the bike, but negotiate, gently and see what happens.

Miele bikes were a "lot of bang for the buck" bikes. That's a beautiful bike that probably rides great. They kept the price down by using Columbus Cromor and the lower range of Shimano parts (which usually means heavier but good performance shifting and braking.) The condition is a rare, truly "like new" from what I can see, for an 80's road bike. I agree with randyjawa, I'd rather pay less but that would be a great vintage bike "rider." It looks like it's been leaning against the wall in someone's unused dining room since 1985. I'd very nicely ask if they could do closer to 175 (american) and see what they agree to.

Given how fast that doggy Peugeot sold at a silly high price, I’d be in my car and driving right now!

I'm late to the party but can tell from the remaining thumbnail picture that it's circa 1990. The Ottawa market is almost as hot as the GTA and Montreal, so the price may not have been unreasonable if it is Cromor.
