1980 Schwinn Voyageur 11.8, Chrome Finish

Shiny...
I just picked up this Voyageur 11.8, and I think I知 going to go for a quick turn around on it. I値l put new tires and tubes on it, but otherwise it seems rideable as is. The finish and decals look great.
How much should I ask? I知 in northeast Ohio, and I壇 like to sell locally.

Can't imagine NE Ohio being a strong market. In my softer market, its in the $200 to $225 range. $250 max.

I dunno. People tend to demand a premium for schwinns and this is a good one. The one's I've seen have been listed at $400 or so. No idea if they've moved at that price and my guess is that they stuck around a long time on CL. Certainly $400 is crazy money when you compare it to other bikes of similar quality but if chrome is your thing, then maybe you need to pay that premium.

...those are swell frames, but unless you got lucky on the original wheels, they have Araya rims with substandard bead hooks that make the original wheels less than ideal for more modern, high pressure tyres. From your photo, I can't tell what those rims are. And it probably varied from year to year.
So I'd guess in the lower end. The one I have here came off the local CL for $125 about five-six years ago, but it's black, not chrome. The black ones appear to be full chrome that has been overpainted.

...when you replace the tyres, check the bead hook on the rims and be careful about the sorts of pressure you inflate them to. It's not that hard to blow a higher pressure tyre off the rim on those, and it makes a tremendous bang when it eats the tube.
But with different rims on mine, and fully inflated new Pasela's, it's one of my favorite riders.

With the nice chrome I would say $250 or so on a quick local sale ready to ride.
