Crown not Zeus
Hi All,
I would appreciate your guidance on my bike which I am reluctantly selling as I have a hybrid bike for regular use.
This is a Crown bicycle but a previous owner clearly went to great trouble to make it seem like a Zeus. This includes decals (stickers?), Zeus engraved on the drop-outs (see photo) and also Zeus brake line clips. Any thoughts on why someone would do this? What should I sell it for?
Thx!

The engraved parts are Zeus. Zeus did make bicycles, but the sold a lot of components, including frame parts. That looks like a replacement fork.

First off, you got a riser bar stem made for upright handlebars on a bike with drop bars. The tires look shot to hell. It's probably a very early 80's vintage with 27" wheels. I've never heard of Zeus or Crown. So, I can't comment on pedigree. But, it looks like a well made item. It's also a good size bike for average/large size riders. Suntour bits and Sugino crank are nice. I would try to determine if the frame is lightweight cro mo or something better than average. Somebody out there might want to buy it. Don't expect to get too much for it in it's current condition.
