Schwinn Jaguar - What do I have?

My dad bought this at the Madison swap years ago because he had a Jaguar car and wanted a jaguar bike to match. He is unable to ride anymore and it is time to let it go. It is entirely out of my wheelhouse. What can you tell me about it? Are the bits original to the bike? How old is it? etc.

That's a 1963 Mark V Jaguar:

It is in Coppertone, the most desirable color and it seems to be original except for the saddle, grips, and missing light. It also has a Bendix coaster brake hub.

All the right parts, in all he right places. Does the tank horn work?

Bendix hub does not appear to be a 2-speed - confirm?

Yeah I think I was wrong about it being a 2-speed. The 2-speed had 3 red bands: https://thecabe.com/forum/threads/wh...stripes.47755/

I think that's a later Suburban front nameplate, and pretty good repop tires. The horns are easy to fix, and usually cement the sale!

That plastic "starburst" nameplate (headbadge) was used from 1960 through 1963 on several of the higher end Schwinn bikes including the Jaguar. It was unique in that it appeared to be chrome plated plastic and was attached to the head tube with adhesive and not with screws.
