Fair price for a 27 hole USED rim from a proprietary wheel?

Is $25 about right?

Not a typo. 27 holes, for triplet lacing.

Is it dishonest to even try and sell a used rim? I just want to get rid of it. Having 2nd thoughts this morning..

...it's not dishonest, but I'd rather be beaten with a softball bat than deal with the crap responses you get on CL for 25 bucks.

I give all my used but reusable rims to the bike co-op here for that very reason.

Where do you get a 27H hub?

18 x 9 lacing.

That can be done on a 36h REAR hub.

It would be a fun build.

Triplet lacing is really cool. If I lived closer, I'd be tempted.

Not in NYC it would seem.. i did contact 2 bike shops and they didn't want it. No co-ops though, not sure what that is, I'm assuming it's just an employee-owned bike shop?

I'll give this away for free to a fellow forum member!

Part of the reason I'm hung up on throwing it away is because of what CliffordK said: I know this could be a fun build for someone.

FWIW i havn't gotten any responses on craigslist. It is christmas/new-years tho..

You could check if anyone on Weight Weenies is interested. Some triplet lacing fans on there...

That’s a fairly modern rim and lots were sold. There’s someone out there who has cracked or lipped one of these identical rims and is bemoaning the thought of having to buy a new wheelset. IMO, that’s the only reason to sell this rim vs trash. You might even offer it for free as a Good Samaritan gesture.

Yep. It might hurt for a moment but the agonizing pain of selling bikes/parts for cheap on CL can last for days. If I have a bike with little value but you can ride it it goes to the curb with a FREE sign on it.

Selling cars with little value on CL is something I will NEVER do again. That is a world of pain on a much higher level.

I have my best luck selling semi exotic vintage or orphan parts right here on the Bike forums I would say list it here in the vintage for sale for $25 plus shipping or local pic up. Very good chance that someone will want it need it to complete a special build.

I have to pay for the premium membership to do that right? I didn't look much in to it because I saw that premium plan splash page
