Specialized Team Stumpjumper (late 80s)
Have this Team Stumpjumper I bought in the late 80s from Talbots Cyclery. Barely ridden, since Im a roadie! So much so, that had a custom set of wheels built from Wheelsmith in Palo Alto & put Splizd Nimbus street tires on it. Been in storage for years.
Componentry is all Black Shimano Deore XT (non bio-pace rings). 55 cm c-c. Tange Prestige Tubing.
Off hand, Id say its in VG condition w/ minor nicks in the paint & no dents, cracks or such...
Value ...?

I love old MTBs and tend to buy them when they show up at a decent price. I just paid $125 for a '92 stumpjumper comp with a prestige main triangle and deore bits. The paint was not as pristine as yours though and you live in a much, much better market than I do. Vintage MTB prices are trending up and the deals are a little harder to find. I'd value this around $300 maybe more in the Bay area to a motivated buyer.

With those components, I'd say $400 - $500.
It may take awhile to find someone who knows what they are buying. A lot of collectors are after the more boutique brands.

On the value I would agree with the lower end of these fairly high optimistic values at $350-400 as is which is pretty much top dollar for a late 80's early 90's hard frame. As for selling parted out and carefully sold it could get twice as much or more but it would be some work for example the nice black chain rings should go for $15-20 each and the crankset with BB $50, Nice black brakset with clean oads $50-60, wheel set with tires $100-150 very conservative.

Local sale or Ebay? Local I would be low, Ebay I'd push to the higher end above, but of course you have the fees and the need to pack and ship at a reasonable/low cost. Lots of rim wear so it does not appear to be lightly ridden to me.
