Nishiki #G01007 with Shimano Arabesque Groupset
Hey guys I'm trying to find info on this Nishiki that has had all it's stickers and paint removed. The serial number doesn't seem to match up with the DB and the original Shimano Arabesque groupset is throwing me off at the same time. The person is asking CAD$275 (~USD$200). Tuned with new cables/casing/wrap.
I suspect it's a Nishiki Century according to bikeindex and considering the guy is selling a garage full of tuned up road bikes and this is one of the lower priced ones.

The serial number appears to be M?G1007, which is consistent with Miki manufacture, Unfortunately the year indicator is very faintly stamped. I'm not seeing any Shimano 600 Arabesque. The components look more like 1st generation Shimano 105 (aka Golden Arrow).

Thanks for the help! I didn't think the M was part of it. Seller thinks it's a '3' so M3G1007 would be the full code. Does that mean it's not a Nishiki at all?

It would make a great round town and basic exercise bike but it is nothing special. o me it looks a bit dirty, and perhaps a more competent mechanic would have removed the broken kickstand base.

He might have replaced the cables, covers, & handlebar tape. But, it still has old tires & dried out bearing surfaces. Weird kickstand artifact. Not really a $200 bike. More like $125 tops.

Thanks a lot everyone I think I'll pass on this. Found a seemingly high quality 1984 Apollo with Ishiwata EXOh frame and Shimano 600 parts for the same price. I'm going to check it out now and can make a thread for that if people are interested!

Are you sure the bike is a Nishiki. More detail shots might be helpful. The first thought that pooped into my head was Velo Sport Criterium...

It's definitely not a Velosport Criterium which is an earlier model than the subject bicycle and the component group is wrong. If it's a Velosport, the prime candidate would be a Michi.
