1984 Apollo Club Touriste

1984 Apollo Club Touriste with Shimano 600 components, Arraya 700c rims. Ishiwata EXOh quadruple butted frame 22".

Went to check it out and the bike is so light! In good clean shape but he's not including his seatpost and saddle and the tires are flat. Seller won't budge from CAD$250 even though it's been posted for over a week. Is it still worth it even without the seat? Seems like a really fine bike but the seatpost replacement seems like such a hassle especially with the bike coops closed around here (Edmonton)

He says it's 22" but it felt a bit small when I stood over it? I'll measure it myself just in case before I buy anyway.

I sold one completely overhauled in Calgary a couple summers for $425 Canadian. It was the same colour but I had dome some upgrades. However the complete Shimano 600 Arabesque group set looks nice. Market prices have definitely come down but in my opinion that is a good deal and if the bike fit me I would pay that.

Thanks this is very useful! I didn't think these were the Arabesque set aren't the Arabesque really ornate?

It is a nice bike but needs to be dissasembled ,cleaned ,polished ,new grease ,new cables and housings.. If you can do that work by yourself than $250 is not bad.

I have owned on just like the OPs bike but mine was the Grand Touriste. If the OPs bike is in working order, without seized seat post and/or steering stem, then $250 CND is darn good price. Look the frame over carefully, for any dents or unwanted bends. If good and were it near me, right now, I would be handing the seller the cash. Very nice solid feeling bike that will get there and back again, in a very pleasant manner - every time. Go get the bike. This one was mine for a while...

It looks like 22". Those are Shimano new 600EX components which was the 1984-1987 successor to 600EX (aka Arabesque). This one should be a 1985 model. Seller couldn't even be bothered to clean the drivetrain, which is one of the filthiest I've seen in quite a while. Given the condition, lack of post and saddle and the current buyer's market, it's significantly overpriced.

Yes, you are correct. I should have looked closer. Still a nice bike.

Picked this up today and it's actually a 22.5", he measured it wrong! Which is actually perfect for me as 22 was my low end of acceptable range.

Let the record show it is a "Club Tourist" not Club Touriste" with the e

Thanks for all the advice everyone

Here is a picture of the one I used to own. Not many original components though, just the brakes (not the levers), crank, and seat post.https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...571969b587.jpg

Nice

I see no major issues the frame set looks dead strait and the paint is good sans a couple of nicks parts look good with a bit of wear only issue is the silly modern over raised seat post and cheap seat which can easily be corrected. . Very nice bike worth the asking prices CAD if was looking for a light touring commuter in the price rang of 200-300cad I would buy it.
