Wondering if anyone can help determine fair resale price for this bike! Iím not very knowledgeable on bikes it was given to me. I donít know year. Original parts. A biker looked at it and said it was amazing condition- no scratches or anything on frame. Any help would be appreciated thanks

Hello and welcome to the forums. I ajm guesing this is a later '90s HK II. Unfortunately most mountain bikes don't hold their value. Can you post some more pics? Maybe some showing details of the drive components, brakes and to give us a better idea of the condition of the bike.

Really depends on the market. Twist grip shifters and old front shock are turn offs to many. It would be about $75 here, hopefully your market is better!!!

The serious mountain bike riders want the latest and greatest, while the collectors want earlier ones, like mid to early 1980s. That leaves the recreational rider. They tend to want a CHEAP bike to ride around the neighborhood or whatever.

Depends on where you're located and what the market is like there. HKEK's are good bikes. That one is going to need a refresh. I see rusted cables for one. Maybe the chain too. Tires are probably cracked. Who knows about the fork? It looks like an Indy model fork so the elastomers inside could be stiff and dead.

My personal strategy for old MTB’s (I have 4) is to refurb and keep for a year or two and only the ones in very nice condition. Seriously, it’s near impossible to flip these things. Most are in ragged out shape. I’d refurb yours (if you feel comfy on it and use it for trails and townie stuff. That’s a nice bike. Love the name.
