Vintage Frames for a Short Rider

Hi All,
I'm on the hunt for a vintage frame that I can put a rack on and use for riding around, maybe some light, weekend touring. Any thoughts on these? (BTW I'm 5'1" with a 27.5" inseam barefoot)

Thanks!

$200 Peugeot Mixte https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...9826525904703/

$140 Shogun 300 https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/bik...98027736.html#

I'd avoid both. The Shogun is a can of worms, I see a lot of problems. The Peugeot has that french uniqueness + plastic derailleurs. If the Shogun was in better shape, I would have recommended. But wow, looks like a trash bin build. Straight from the dumpster to you........

Yeah, the Shogun is not in great condition, but I'm open to a bit of a project. If I can get the seller to come down a bit on the price, could it be worth it?

Also, fwiw, I'm newly in the San Francisco Bay area, and it seems like there's a bit of a markup on everything here.

I would suggest touring version from brand names like Fuji (S10), Nishiki , Centurion, Bridgestone, Miyata, Trek or similar. The quickest check for quality is the weight, the lighter the better, however, touring version might weight a bit extra.

Thanks all for your help! I passed on both and went with a Maruishi rx6. I wasn't planning on a road bike, but I quickly fell in love. So it goes with bikes.
