Mongoose road and mountain bikes from the pre-bigbox era are some of my favorites.

Sadly, Mongoose hooking up with Walmart really killed the brand. People do not give them the respect they deserve. As a result, this can be GREAT as a buyer, lousy as a seller. I picked up a full Campy equipped Mongoose. Transferred the parts to a Trek frame I had laying around.

Had a chance to own two of those in my time. Only thing I didn't like was having to find a 1" fork and changing out the threaded headset for a threadless setup. Would acquire again if there's room in the stable and one pops up at a good price.
