Harry Quinn restored

Harry Quinn gave me this back in 1977, It had been originally owned by Kevin Apter, 2X's National RR Champion.
When I aquired it in 1977 it had Galley equipment, been restored with Campagnolo super record.
Reynolds 531 super light, just waiting for the weather to change before I give it a spin.

Any input on value would be appriciated, Cheers

No idea of value but this bike is beautiful and from a very respected builder to boot. You're in the UK, right?

I owned a Harry Quinn- not the same as this one- mine had a shorter wheelbase.
I kind of wish I did not sell it, but it would have sat for 10-15 years. Sold it long ago in the late 70's.

Quinn made all kinds of designs.
I was just asked about it's geometry, mine was 22" center to top.
37.25" wheelbase. A Clement DelMondo would not fit, it would hit the seat tube. Well, it would unless one backed out the adjuster screws, but that was not the point.

Beautiful and very unique. I have no flipping idea on value but will happily throw a number out there to start some chatter.

High-end frameset, componentry and provenance... let’s say $1,400?

Well I have no idea on value but if I was in the market and it was my size, based on chrome alone, I would agree with plonz and go with the $1500 range in good times.

Beautiful, cool and awesome.

That is a beautiful bike and agree that $1500 +/- would be a fair price. The only problem I could see is if you try to sell it the brand won't be well know to a broad audience. But to an aficionado, that is eye candy and very desirable.

Thank you guy's for the kind words on the bike,

Sorry, no documentation. I knew Harry from 1975 thru to his passing 2009, he was 92yr.
Harry was a great man who helped thousands of young bike racers like myself when we had no money.
Here's a pic of me winning the Pan American games on a Harry in 1979.

Well, that picture is good enough. Oftentimes, if you want to tell a story that it was owned by someone famous or used to win a race, having some sort of picture showing that may improve the value. Well, sometimes the owned by a famous person part anyway. It at least makes a more complete story, and, when you get to the higher price ranges, a story that goes along with the bike can have a positive affect on the sale price.

I saw you race on that steep short track in Hamilton about 20 years ago. You were still kicking butt and I was really pleased to get a chance to see you ride, perhaps on that Quinn. What a crazy night that was.

=great Photo from '79.. and of the chromed HQ frame.. Chrome adds a bit more weight than paint would, one would hardly notice, but it is much more durable ..and lovely. Enjoy!
