Value advice?
So I am not noramally a CV guy but saw this bike on a local listing and it really peaked my interest for some reason. I just like it.
Any idea what a reasonable price might be for this? thanks. I emailed the seller for more pics and such waiting for a response.

Considering its condition, the price seems reasonable although I don't think it will sell for more than $100.00 simply because it has little street cred.

Others will be able to provide far more detail, but a quick look at this picture tells me this is a pretty low-end road bike. Centurion made great bikes, but this doesn't appear to be one of them. For me the key indicators of a low-end road bike are stem shifters, safety brake levers, saddle, and stamped droppouts without a derailleur hanger. If you wait, you can find a much nicer vintage road bike for $175. Personally, I wouldn't bother with this. If you want it, value would be closer to $40 IMHO.

Look like steel rims.....as a starter I would avoid steel rims, that alone will get you into a bit higher level bike.. if you are interested take a magnet and check out the rims, that could be a negotiating point to bring the cost down. but if it fits and you can get it for less than $100 it is a start.
i did a quick search there is not a lot listed for C&V in the sioux falls area. the stem shifters and safety levers were part of standard equipment for mid level and lower bikes ins the 70's and early 80's

Yeah that's not a $175 bike in South Dakota even on a good day; maybe a $50.

Just wanted to update:
sent some more up close pics and it was in really nice shape but he wouldn't budge. His low price was $150. I passed, he was an older person so probably didn't know values? I don't know, I told him to call me if he changed his mind...
thanks for the help all!!!

Sellers have the right to ask whatever they want, including silly high prices. Some think vintage = gold. Lots better options out there.

You can often find catalogs for these old bikes online. Then you can see what the components were. Like for this bike, it did have steel wheels (bad), but MKS pedals (good).
