What was I thinking?

Today trying not to go bonkers during quarantine, I was doing more of the Corona virus clean your shop challenge. I opened up a drawer for the first time in likely fifteen years and found two of these:

What in the world was I saving two Ninja cranks for? Length is 170, and they have 24,36,46 rings on them. What should I post as a price for BF members? Thanks for the help, MH

Are they NOS, steel rings?

I see Suntour but what are the letters after that?

Looks like they're still in the original box. Nice looking items. I'd like to have those. So, I'm sure plenty of others would also have them too. Priced at $50 they will go fast. Priced at $100 they will go eventually. Be good. Have fun.

3SS,
Yes they have steel rings they were marked power rings, I don't remember if they had some thing like the Shimano oval rings but I doubt it. Smiles, MH

Ramzilla,
Yes they are NOS back when I was wrenching things came through that we thought we should buy because they would become obsolete, or we couldn't get them later when we needed them. I'm pretty sure I have a box of Suntour six speed shifters for mt bikes somewhere in the archives, I just gotta find them! Smiles, MH

MH,
I can't give you a valuation on the parts, only a suggestion that you start opening more drawers....no telling what treasures you will discover!
Best, Ben

PowerRing was SunTour's attempt at an improved performance chainring. The design used used a square cut tooth profile, similar to Shimano's W-tooth, to improve shifting. The depth of the web also varied between the mounting holes, getting progressively deeper towards the trailing edge. This feature prevented chain jams, according to SunTour. PowerRings were introduced circa 1990 and were available only in a round style.

Nice !

I had a set of those on my first MTB - a Bridgestone.

It wasn't one of the much sought after MB-1 or MB-0 though, but Bridgestone seemed to put a lot of thought in even their down line models .

That's a beautiful forging
